1. The eligibility requirements for the Masters Degree programmes may be further constrained by the Department for taught programmes (type A) only, subject to the minimum eligibility requirements specified in Section 2, as set out in the approved "Eligibility and Performance Criteria." The eligibility requirement for the Masters Degree programmes with a major component of research (type B) shall be as in Section 2.
2. The minimum eligibility requirements to follow the prescribed programme leading to the Masters Degree, is one of the following:
2.1 An Honours Bachelor's degree of the University of Moratuwa, in a relevant field, and
for type A only
a minimum period of post-qualifying experience if specified by a particular programme, as approved by the Senate;
2.2 Any other Honours Bachelor's degree from a recognized University in a relevant field, equivalent to an Honours Bachelor's degree of the University of Moratuwa
for type A,
as judged by the relevant Faculty, and a minimum period of post-qualifying experience if specified by a particular programme, as approved by the Senate;
for type B,
as judged by the Home Faculty and the Faculty of Graduate Studies and approved by the Senate;
2.3 Any other Bachelors degree from a recognized University in a relevant field, and
for type A,
a minimum period of post-qualifying experience as judged by the relevant Faculty
for type B,
a minimum period of one (01) year post-qualifying experience, as judged by the Home Faculty and the Faculty of Graduate Studies,
and approved by the Senate.
2.4 Any recognized category of membership of a recognized Professional Institute in a relevant field obtained through an academic route and
for type A,
a minimum period of experience, as judged by the relevant Faculty.
for type B,
a minimum period of one (01) year post-qualifying experience,
and approved by the Senate.
