On the 15th of July 2010, the staff members and well wishers of the department of mathematics joined together to felicitate and celebrate 30 years of tremendous service rendered by our dear Asoka miss ( as known by everyone) to the department of mathematics and the University as a whole. She has been the connecting element of the department and has always given her BEST for the well being and progress of the department. With 30 years of experience, she carries a legacy of memories and rich memories of the department, and we were fortunate to listen to her speak the Historical events that our department could boast about.
I should also not forget to mention the encouraging speeches given by Prof G.T.F De silva ( Former Head Department of Mathematics and Vice chancellor of University of Moratuwa ), Dr Malhardeen( Head) and Mrs P.S. Yatapana who have shared wonderful memories of the department with Asoka miss.
At this day Asoka miss proposed to start a department fund contributing a sum of Rs 5000 as an initiation, and it was suggested to be discussed in the next staff meeting.
We wish Mrs Asoka Piyaseeli all the very best in all what she does and continue to be a blessing to the department , university and to the whole community. we pray all the goodness to Asoka miss and her family.
