With a friendly staff and stimulating atmosphere, the environment is conducive to a good learning experience. Situated quite close to the main entrance, the department buildings are located towards the West side of the university.

History The Department of Chemical Engineering was inaugurated by gazette notification on 15th February 1972. The program had its roots in the Junior Technical Officer's course conducted by the Maradana Technical College.
