M.Sc./M.Phil degree (full time)

Applications are called from candidates to pursue a post graduate research degree in the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Moratuwa.

Research Topic: Investigation of Contributory Factors for Road Crashes Involving Motorcycles in Sri Lanka and Identification of Possible Countermeasures

Monthly stipend:  Rs. 60,000 (approx.)

Minimum qualifications: B.Sc. in Civil Engineering

M.Sc. / PG Diploma in Building Services Engineering ( 2022/2023 )

The Departments of Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering of the University of Moratuwa are pleased to announce the commencement of the Postgraduate Programme in “Building Services Engineering” for the academic year 2022/2023 and invite applications for admission from suitably qualified candidates. The course is commencing from May 2022 and will be offered in modular form.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  1. The Degree of Bachelor of The Science of Engineering of the University of Moratuwa in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering specialty and minimum 1 year experience in the field of Building Services Engineering, as approved by the Senate or
  2. Any other Engineering degree of at least four year duration from a recognized university in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering specialty and minimum 1 year experience in the field of Building Services Engineering, as may be approved by the Senate or
  3. Any other Engineering degree of at least three year duration in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering specialty from a recognized university, with minimum of two years experience in the field of Building Services Engineering, as may be approved by the Senate or
  4. Any recognized category of membership of a recognized Engineering Professional Institute with at least 3 years of relevant experience, after obtaining the professional qualification as may be approved by the Senate.

And

  1. Eligibility for the award of Post Graduate Diploma in Building Services Engineering as specified in the relevant performance criteria.

 

PROGRAMME OF STUDIES

Postgraduate Diploma (PG Dip.): 12 Months (part-time)

  • Taught courses and laboratory work, assignments, seminars and field visits. All academic work will normally be conducted on: Fridays and Saturdays

 

Master of Science (MSc):  24 Months (part-time)

  • Successful completion of the academic requirements for the Postgraduate Diploma and additional mandatory individual research project leading to a thesis/dissertation meeting the minimum duration condition of the degree

COURSE FEES

Registration Fee   :    Rs. 2,000/= per year

Examination Fee   :    Rs. 500/= per year (Payable at Registration)

Library Deposit     :    Rs. 2500/= per item, up to 6 items (Optional and Refundable)

Tuition Fee            :    Rs. 300,000/= for PG Diploma & Rs. 100,000/= for MSc.

Rs. 50,000/= for an additional year (Up to Maximum Duration of the Programme)

Please note that students will be permitted to proceed to the MSc based on the results of examinations during the first year.

M.Sc / PG Diploma in Water Resources Engineering & Management 2022/2024

Applications are invited for the above postgraduate course offered by the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Moratuwa.  The programme will be conducted in collaboration with the South Asia Foundation (SAF) at the UNESCO Madanjeet Centre for South Asia Water Management (UMCSAWM), University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.
