MSc / PG Diploma in Electrical Engineering

The MSc/PG Diploma in Electrical Engineering programme will cover a broad range of activities and evolving issues that are of great importance in the field of electrical engineering. The programme has been designed to provide students with theoretical and technical knowledge in the area of power systems in addition to power electronics, control and motor drives etc.

 

The lectures are carried out by expert members of academic staff and industry. All lectures, practical classes, etc will normally be conducted on Fridays and Saturdays during the first year of the course. Those who successfully complete the modules with adequate number of credits will be awarded the postgraduate diploma. A selected set of those who are eligible for postgraduate diploma may proceed to undertake an individual project of one year of duration on part-time basis. Those candidates who successfully complete the research project will be awarded the degree of Master of Science.

Entry Requirements:

 

The Degree of Bachelor of Science of Engineering of the University of Moratuwa in a relevant field of specialisation;

OR

Any other engineering degree of at least four years of duration in a relevant field of specialisation, from a recognised university;

OR

Any other engineering degree of at least three years of duration from a recognised university and a minimum of one year of appropriate experience in a relevant field after obtaining such degree;

OR

At least, the associate membership of a recognised engineering professional institute in a relevant field and a minimum of one year of appropriate experience after obtaining such membership.
