Introduction to MOT

The Department of Management of Technology (MOT) was established in November 1998, in the Faculty of Engineering, in order to meet the Technology Management education and training needs of Sri Lanka. The department's activities are multi-disciplinary and it offers several Management and Technology Management subjects at the undergraduate level. The department's main focus at present is on the postgraduate course leading to Master of Business Administration/Postgraduate Diploma in Management of Technology.

Apart from Master of Business Administration/Postgraduate Diploma in Management of Technology, the department offers M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees by research.

The department also conducts a number of Short-Courses for the industry and is willing to undertake tailormade short-term training programmes on request by the industry.

Teaching staff of the MOT department comprises of high calibre academics and specialists drawn from the industry. To assure the highest quality of its programmes the department maintains close collaboration with foreign Universities, professional institutes and industrial partners in conducting the degree programmes and short courses.

Our key objective is to develop and introduce Technology Management education and training programs to cater for all Technology Management needs of the present and future managers of the industry.
