the University of Moratuwa Toastmasters club website! Our club is an institution-base
club open for the faculty memebrs, non-academic staff members, and graduate students
of University of Moratuwa. We welcome spouces of the employees and graduate students
of of our University as well. Toastmaster is a personal improvement program though
public speaking and leadership, in a friendly environment. We help each other to
improve. Universityof Moratuwa Toastmaters Club is affiliated to
Toastmasters International based in the USA. We belong to District 82, comprising
of India and Sri Lanka, Division A, and Area 3.
Moratuwa is a city approximately15 km south of Colombo.
University of Moratuwa is ranked as the best university in Sri Lanka. We
have been able to attract over 95% of the top-performers in the island-wide advanced-level
examination. University has three faculties, Architecture, Engineering, and Information
Technology.
Engineering
Faculty is the largest. Engineering Faculty has nine departments: Chemical and Process
Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Earth Resources
Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering,
Management of Technology, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Textile
and Clothing Technology. We offer bachelors', masters, and doctoral degrees.

The mission of a Toastmasters club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every individual member has the opportunity to develop oral communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.
University of Moratuwas toastmaster won the third place in the divisional humor and evaluation contests.
Our club received the highest award a club can recive, the President's Distinguished Club Award in 2008-09 when Ms. Vishaka Nanayakkara led the club.
