Normal
Duration :
The maximum period the candidate may take between the date of commencement
of the programme and the final examination without obtaining an extension.
The candidate must request for special permission from the Senate to exceed
the Normal Duration. Under exceptional circumstances such as medical or
similar leave the Senate may grant a period over and above the Normal
Duration at its discretion on case-by-case basis.

Duration :
The maximum period allowed between the date of commencement of the programme
and the final examination including corrections.
The candidates should register annually, after paying the relevant fees
For candidates who have already registered for Higher Degrees before January 2002, and extension of time beyond the limit may be considered on case by case basis.
