Inauguration of New Intake 2011
Faculty of Engineering has enroled 850 undergraduate students from 2010 A/L and to held the inauguration of the new intake on 04th Octobet 2011.<br> The Inauguration Ceremony will be followed by an Orientation Programme on 05th October 2011. The Pre-Academic Term will be held from 06th October to 04th November 2011.<br> Academic activities of Semester 1 of the new intake will commence on 8th September 2011.

ExMO2010, the Exhibition organized by the Faculty of Engineering, University of Moratuwa, will be held on 9th, 10th and 11th of September 2010 at the University of Moratuwa premises. This will be open for the general public daily from 09.00am to 07.00pm.

Faculty of Engineering has enroled 804 undergraduate students from 2009 A/L and held the inauguration of the new intake on 29th June 2010. The intake includes 716 for B.Sc. Engineering Degree, 49 for B. Sc (Transport & Logistics Management) Degree and 39 for B. Design (FD & PD) Degree. The Inauguration Ceremony followed by an Orientation Programme on 30th June. A Communication skill Development Programme will be held from 1st July to 19th August. Academic activities of Semester 1 of the new intake will commence on 23rd August 2010.
Re-commencement of Academic Activities of the Faculty of Engineering
It is hereby announced that academic activities for all students of the Faculty of Engineering will re-commence on Monday, 14th June, 2010.
ExMO Press Conference & Web Launch
The Faculty of Engineering, University of Moratuwa conducted a press conference on 20th May 2010 to raise awareness among the General Public about the ExMO 2010 exhibition of Faculty of Engineering. This was done with the participation of Electronic Media and Print Media in the presence of Deans of Faculties, Heads of Departments, the Exhibition committee, Alumni of the Faculty academic and non academic staff and students. Demise of Dr. G.K. Watugala

It is with profound shock and sadness that the Faculty of Engineering reports the demise of Dr. G.K. Watugala, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Moratuwa.
His remains lay at No. 01, Wijerama Road, Gangodawila, Nugegoda and the cremation will take place at the Udahamulla Cemetery on Thursday the 18th June 2009 at 3.00 pm.
Demise of Dr. P. Ramachandra

It is with profound shock and sadness that the Faculty of Engineering reports the demise of Dr. P. Ramachandran, Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Management of technology.
His remains are kept at A.F. Raymond Funeral Parlor, Borella and the cremation will take place at Borella Cemetery on Sunday 14th June 2009 at 10.00 am.
Dr. P. Ramachandran received the B.Sc. Engineering degree from the University of Sri Lanka, - Katubedda Campus in 1972, and completed his Doctoral studies at the Imperial College, University of London in 1995.

Inauguration of New Intake 2008
Faculty of Engineering has made all the arrangements to enrol 751 undergraduate students from 2007 A/L and to hold the inauguration of the new intake on 24th June 2008. The intake includes 661 for B.Sc. Engineering Degree, 50 for B. Sc (Transport & Logistics Management Degree) and 40 for B. Design (FD & PD) Degree.
The Inauguration Ceremony will be followed by an Orientation Programme on 25th & 26th June. A Communication skill Development Programme will be held from 27th June to 29th August.
Academic activities of Semester 1of the new intake will commence on 8th September 2008.

University of Moratuwa has become the Global Top University in Highest Number of Awards as well as highest number of applications in this year’s Google Summer of Code. Re-commencement of Academic Activities Faculty of Engineering - Level 1 Course
It is hereby announced that the Academic Activities of the Level 1 programme of the Faculty of Engineering would commence as from Tuesday the 5th of February 2008.

It is hereby announced that the academic activities of the Level II students of the Faculty of Engineering will re-commence on Wednsday 23rd January, 2008.

Demise of Dr. DAI Munindradasa

It is with profound shock and sadness that the Faculty of Engineering reports the sudden death of Dr. D. A. I. Munindradasa, Senior Lecturer and former Head of the Department of Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering.
His funeral will be on Sunday 17th June 2007 at his house at Pinwatta Piriwena Road. Cortege leaves residence at 4.00 p.m. to Pinwatta Cemetery .
Dr. Munindradasa received the B.Sc. Engineering degree from the University of Moratuwain 1993, and completed his doctoral studies at the University of Liverpool on Electronics devices. He was the Head of the Dept. in 2003-2006. He worked in the areas of semiconductor materials, wildlife related electronics, mechatronics, automotive electronics and acoustics.
In addition he actively participated in Wild Life Conservation activities in Sri Lanka and was an ardent photographer.
